I have to agree that Sunday night was a historic moment. I'm very excited that health care reform passed and that we're finally on the path to change. Health care reform has failed so many times in the past that I'm still shocked I got to experience that moment. I was checking out polls prior to Sunday and the country seemed to be divided over the issue, with almost half of the people polled not supportive of health care reform, but it seems that public support is increasing now that the bills were passed. I for one, would have liked to have seen more coming from the bill, like a public option, but I think it's a huge step toward achieving change in our health care system. I'm particularly pleased that health care coverage will be extended to 32 million Americans and that insurance companies will no longer be able to drop people if they become sick. I think the changes that are to come are something we should be proud of and I hope the country can become more supportive of the progress health care reform will bring.

I agree. This is a historic moment in our political history in that for many of us it is the first time in our lives we have seen the American Congress actually pass something that may change health care. I'm not sure how much I agree with the actual changes that have been made. I am a believer in what I now know to be non-profit social insurance, but I also have accepted the the majority of the American people are not ready for that. So for now...maybe this is as close to a step in the right direction as America is able to take. And per Dmitry's post, we'll just have to wait and see what happens with the lawsuits, etc. Again...the American way.
